Rwanda Survivors Foundation

Project Description

Alison and Emery came to us looking for a full rebrand and new website for their non-profit organization, the Rwanda Survivors Foundation. They were struggling to capture their story and impact, and needed our help to move forward confidently with funding proposals and sponsorship opportunities. We were able to create a visual identity for the Foundation that was reflective of their mission and values, and a responsive Squarespace site to share more information.

We were tasked with designing an identity that was trustworthy, equal parts Canadian and Rwandan, and avoided generic African symbols. The final identity for the Foundation features the Agaseke basket, a handmade treasure that symbolizes peace and love. The new brand embodies the attributes of dignity, trust, community, and excellence.

Even though the Foundation already had a WordPress website, we decided to rebuild the site on Squarespace. We translated the brand seamlessly into a professional and captivating website featuring moving photography and fresh copy (by Stephanie White).
